At the moment, no, there is no transfer deal. But that deal cost $199, and getting lifetime service on this is $299 for existing TiVo subscribers, so it's not so much worse . . .

I have an OLD TiVo that I've used continuously since Christmas 1991 (Philips HDR312) that I upgraded some years ago via Weaknees.

I'm interested in replacing it with the new HD XL.

My question: is it possible to transfer my lifetime service from my original TiVo? Last year there was an upgrade deal that I should have jumped on...

If that's a "yes" I'm ready to order one!

That's pretty much the key, but the Series3 also has buttons on the front, and a front panel display. So those options are important to some, and we can certainly bump up the recording capacity to compensate for that.
